The official journal of the Hospital Caterers Association
The Hospital Caterer is the official journal of the Hospital Caterers Association (HCA), published six times each year in conjunction with Hospital Food+Service magazine - boasting a combined circulation of over 27,000!
Established in 1948, the HCA is the recognised voice of hospital catering, with a membership responsible for providing catering services to NHS Trusts and Health Boards across the four nations.
The Hospital Caterer is the primary source of essential information for hospital caterers, foodservice dietitians and facilities leads with catering responsibility, keeping its readers up-to-date with the latest news, developments, regulatory changes, standards and other guidance.
The journal also reports on the activities and initiatives of the Association, both on a national level and locally, with regular member news from the HCA’s 15 Branches and a focus on its core campaigns, including the ‘Power of Three’ and the ‘Last 9 Yards’. It champions the work and achievements of NHS chefs, promoting events such as the HCA 4 Nations Showcase, NHS Chef and regional Salon Culinaire competitions, encouraging wider engagement between chefs and catering staff from different organisations.
Through its news, reviews and in-depth features, the magazine tackles the issues faced by catering teams in their daily challenges of providing high quality and nutritious food and drink to patients, staff and visitors in hospitals across the UK.
